After years of dancing on tour and in parties, and a short stint as a rapper, my career took a turn toward consciousness when, under the alias Black Katt, I launched the underground poetry scene in Toronto. From contracting venues to booking performers, designing flyers to hosting, I took on all aspects of event planning to build an atmosphere where I could express my passion as a performance poet. This resulted in a slew of opportunities in acting, voice-over, marketing and eventually, filmmaking.
