About Harbourfront Centre
“For more than 40 years, Harbourfront Centre has been on the cutting edge of all that is current and creative, bringing together the best in both Canadian culture and the rich mosaic of cultures from within our country and around the world. Harbourfront Centre is an innovative, non-profit cultural organization which provides internationally renowned programming in the arts, culture, education and recreation, all within a collection of distinctive venues in the heart of Toronto's downtown waterfront. Diversity has always been at the heart of Harbourfront Centre. In the lakeside places and spaces it encompasses. In the multitude of cultures and backgrounds it celebrates. In the eclectic programming, engagement and entertainment it provides. And in the broad range of people it attracts.”
About ArtworxTO
Signaling our City's renewed commitment to Public Art, ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021–2022 will launch our City's new 10-Year Public Art Strategy and celebrate Toronto's internationally acclaimed collection of Public Art. ArtworxTO is an initiative that I strongly believe in and this year, Torontonians will have the opportunity to get out and experience an extensive array of new public artworks and programs. ArtworxTO is a reflection of Toronto's diversity and focuses on improving accessibility and engagement with Public Art right across the city. From Etobicoke to Scarborough, Downtown to North York, the program will provide artists and institutions with a platform to create more ground-breaking work for all to enjoy. New projects will roll out all year, so check back frequently and use the GPS-enabled map on your phone to explore the works in your community, in a safe, distanced way. Stay tuned for more announcements on how we plan to celebrate the vibrant, thriving arts and culture in the greatest city, in the greatest country, in the world. Enjoy the Public Art. - Mayor John Tory
